I feel like Ive talked the ears off of myself, my mother, my friends, my cat and I cant make sense of any of this. This feels so absolutely unreal that Im still convinced its all a bad dream that Ill eventually wake up from. To preface whatever stream of consciousness Im about to hurl into the void: Ive always known BPD exists and had a vague idea of what it entails, but it never really occupied any of my brain space beyond that because its never been relevant in my own life until now. After hours of discussing the breakup/my pwBPD in general with my cousin (whos actually a clinical psychologist) I offhandedly connected some of his behaviors to BPD and she immediately told me she hadnt wanted to say anything but had pretty much diagnosed him the second I started talking. I was in denial (I suppose I still am, eh. but after that, I fell down the rabbit hole. He had 7-bordering-on-8 of the 9 diagnostic criteria listed in the DSM-5. Everything I read was spot on. Everything. I started making more and more connections and having more and more realizations about behaviors he had displayed throughout our relationship that I knew were “off” but could never quite put my finger on, and then I found this sub yesterday afternoon and. I people are so similar, they follow the same playbook to a freaking T, and I am mehow simultaneously numb and overwhelmed? I guess that sounds kind of unflattering on my end, but this guy has spent our whole relationship routinely saying “Do you hate me? ” out of nowhere to get validation, which I always happily gave him, because thats what I feel like you do for your partner. He tells me Im dramatic, he tells me Im not going to get the response Im looking for, he completely ignores what Im saying and changes the topic with a dumb comment about what he was watching on TV, and I say, “Well, when you have something on your mind Ill certainly want you to come to me, and Ill be here to give you whatever validation you need. Remember when you told me you have to meet your partner where theyre at and give them love the way they want to receive it, not necessarily how you want to give it? ” This wasnt a fight or anything, to be clear. He was just being snippy and I got kind of miffed and defensive. Anyway, he leaves my message on read and ignores me for the night. 7:30AM Wednesday morning. I just dont think its fair that me asking you to give me two seconds of reassurance should be met with, ‘Sometimes I dont think I even want to be with you. ” And he goes, “I dont not want to be with you. ” Again, what? I go, “Well thats what you just made it sound like. I only know what you say, not what you mean. Thats a rough thing to say and then not elaborate on. ” And then he osted me. I know that conversation probably sounds annoying, and I almost dont even want to post this because Im terrified of someone saying, “Well, yeah, it seems like perhaps youre not an effective communicator/youre needy/youre insecure/youre hard to deal with and he just kind of had enough. Sucks, but what can you do. ” But I swear this was just a complete 180, completely out of character, completely unexpected, and just. what. That was the first time I ever asked for anything like that or expressed that I felt that way, when he had done so multiple times. I just dont get the hypocrisy/double standards/whatever. Im not proud of it, but I reached out to him a handful of times. I probably sent him a good 4-5 messages over the course of the next two days and got nothing. Stone cold. Left me on read. Not one single response. The last thing he had said was the whole, “ I dont not want to be with you, ” he ghosted me? Neither of us have the other blocked on anything, but I unfollowed him on all of my platforms and he followed suit. Its just So. Fucking. Bizarre. Im so mad at myself because even knowing what I know now, even after staring at all of the pieces Ive put together, even knowing that this is plainly and simply unacceptable, I cant stop hoping that hell reach out. I cant stop thinking, “Maybe this whole BPD thing is a dumb coincidence or Im just going to extremes to try to make sense of things. Hes the person I thought he was, hes just going through something dark and didnt handle it well, maybe this was all my fault, but give it time and hell reach out and well talk it through and things will be fine - no, things will be better after we patch things up and move forward. This man isnt a monster, he isnt sick, we all just have our things. You dont give up on someone because they didnt handle a situation perfectly, you work through it together and grow from it. ” I dont think hell reach out. I dont know. I know I shouldnt even think about it, but man I cant help it. This lack of closure, the way he went from “Youre my favorite person. You make me happy. Im serious about us. ” to absolutely stonewalling me is just. Im in the twilight zone. I know Ill be okay, I know every minute that passes will put distance between me and this whole thing, but in the meantime... I seriously cannot think about anything else. I just want to lay in bed for the rest of my life and alternate between reading all of these posts and staring blankly at the ceiling.

People tends to undermine a comedian's range of talent. They usually are the deepest of people.
